Wakulla County is a unique place. People live here because, as the welcome sign says, it is "The Natural Place to Be." Our county is over two-thirds State or National forest, historically rural, and the last county in Florida with an unincorporated county seat. We are minutes from Tallahassee, world famous springs, and pristine Gulf beaches. It is no surprise, then, that our community is one of the fastest growing in Florida.
But as more people move to Wakulla, many people in our community seem to believe that we only have two options: growth at all cost or no growth at all. Wakulla needs someone who can bring us together, to find a middle ground - one of sustainable, smart growth. If we want Wakulla County to provide the resources that we expect from our community, it needs to be more than a bedroom community for our neighbor to the north; we must be able to live, work, and play here. We need new leadership, open to creative and innovative new ideas. We need leadership that is open and accessible, and someone who will work for you, by working with you. We need Alan Brock.
